About Us: Jagori Rural Charitable Trust (JRCT) has been at the forefront of empowering women, adolescents, and communities in rural Himachal Pradesh since 2002. Our mission is to foster a society rooted in gender justice, inclusivity, and equity. Through a feminist lens, we address deeply established social inequities tied to gender, caste, religion, disability, and sexual identity. With over 150 villages across Kangra, Chamba, and Sirmaur districts as our canvas, we work to amplify the voices of women and girls, ensure safety and dignity for all, and cultivate resilience against violence and discrimination. Our approach is holistic, intersecting empowerment with health rights, organic agriculture, safety from violence, and transformative leadership.

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and visionary woman to join us as an Associate Programme Director. This role is for a leader who believes in the power of grassroots feminism, the resilience of rural communities, and the transformative potential of collective action. You will be a pivotal force, crafting high-impact, gender-sensitive strategies, driving programme coherence, and fostering an empowered, high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Feminist Programmes: Shape and guide our programme strategies to create transformative change, centering the empowerment of women and girls and championing gender justice.
Strengthen Programme Impact: Drive internal systems and procedures to maximize the reach, efficiency, and impact of all JRCT programmes, delivering results that are timely, strategic, and gender-sensitive.
Build a High-Impact Team: Foster a culture of empowerment, inclusivity, and feminist leadership by mentoring and guiding team members, building their capacities, and ensuring alignment with JRCT’s values and objectives.
Strategic Vision and Collaboration: Partner closely with the Executive Director to design impactful programmes, develop project proposals, secure strategic funding, and build meaningful alliances with both state and non-state actors.
Community Engagement: Actively promote and deepen community relationships, ensuring that our work reflects and uplifts the lived experiences of rural women and girls.
Skills & Competencies:
Academic Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Social Sciences, Women’s/Gender Studies, or a related field.
Professional Experience: 8–10 years of senior management experience, with a track record of delivering results through feminist and human rights-oriented approaches.
Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi.
Feminist Commitment: A powerful feminist and human rights perspective, with a proven ability to forge partnerships across sectors and effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Community-Centric Approach: A deep understanding of rural dynamics and community engagement.
Other Information:
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.

Senior Team Co-Coordinator (Female)
Aware Girls Action for Justice (AGAJ) Program
Position: Senior Team Co-Coordinator (Female) – Aware Girls Action for Justice (AGAJ) Program
Location: Kangra district at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh
Type: Full-time
Start Date: November, 2024
Looking for a dynamic, committed person with leadership qualities to lead a team working with adolescent girls for building them as entitled, equal citizen.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead the entire program and implement all its projected activities including trainings, workshops, campaigns and fairs, community events and regular village and cluster level meetings in consultation with the block team and senior team leaders.

Prepare modules, learning and multi-media materials related to different aspects of the program, including advanced training of peer-leaders from among the adolescent girls and capacity building of field staff and volunteers.

Plan and organize outreach and awareness campaigns.

Engage with various stakeholders including government departments, educational institutions, Panchayat Representatives (PRI) and NGOs, including creating and updating databases on participants, partners and activities

Monitor outcomes and outputs and prepare and submit periodic progress reports as well as an annual report along with success stories and achievements.
Qualifications & Experience:

Master’s degree in Gender studies, Social Work, Sociology or a related field

Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with women’s organizations, networks and/or social movements, preferably as trainer and coordinator in marginalized communities

Passion in working on issues of gender and social justice and empowerment of adolescent girls
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, namely also in writing (English and Hindi, using MS Word, Excel, Internet and email).

Organizational talent and used to teamwork as well as managing multiple tasks independently and simultaneously.
Remuneration: Jagori Rural Charitable Trust applies a salary scheme to all its programs. Salary will be commensurate with the responsibility of the position and the experience of the candidate.
